The Rowayton Dog Park

The Rowayton Dog Park is a great space to bring your dog, let them run and play, and get some exercise.   For many years, a volunteer group has spearheaded management of the park.  In 2024, The 6TH Taxing District has taken over management.  Currently there is no fee or registration required to use the park, but that will change sometime in the future with plenty of notice, to help fund upkeep and to keep track of dogs using the park for safety reasons

                                 RULES OF THE DOG PARK

·       The Park is opened at 7:00 AM and closes at dusk.  Please be respectful of the neighbors who live adjacent to the park.

·       All dogs must be spayed or neutered. This is a rule at many dog parks and is recommended as a tactic to reduce the possibility of dogfights.

·       Owner/Handler maximum of 3 dogs per visit.  It is impossible to properly watch more than 3 dogs.

·       Children five and under are prohibited from entering no exceptions. This is for the protection of the children.

·       An adult must accompany children under 12 years.

·

·       No one may bring equipment such as wading pools or agility equipment into the Park unless granted permission from the 6TD.

·       When entering, remove your dog(s) leash only in the corralled area.  Prong collars, choke collars and chains, or spike collars must be removed from dogs prior to entering the park.

·       Dogs displaying aggressive behavior toward people or other dogs must be leashed and immediately removed from the park by owners/handlers.

·       Owners/handlers must remain inside of the fenced area, with leash in hand, and within view of their dogs at all times.

·       Owners/handlers must properly clean up after their dog(s) and put their dog’s waste into the garbage cans.

·       Owners/handlers must stop their dogs from digging and immediately fill any holes in order to help avoid injuries.

·       No dog treats, rawhide chews, human food, alcohol or smoking are allowed within the fenced area. No glass containers are allowed.
